We are looking for a Learning & Development Specialists (Retail) to join our People and Organisational Development team. With a focus on the retail directorate, your role will involve delivering a variety of learning interventions, taking ownership of projects from scoping to evaluation, and ensuring that all training interventions align with the BHF priorities and yield measurable return on investment. As part of our L&D team, you will champion learning and help promote and embed a culture of learning and growth across all areas of retail within the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Working with the Lead L&D Specialist (Retail), the L&D Team, Retail People Business Partner, and other retail stakeholders, you will work on identifying retail training needs that enable our colleagues to deliver to the best of their ability. The role will facilitate engaging and memorable behaviour-led and process training interventions that enhance organisational performance and align the BHF to our strategic vision.

You'll have a strong knowledge of scoping, designing, and delivering training (and support resources) for both face-to-face and online sessions, ensuring that the learning experience is engaging and memorable. With excellent communication and influencing skills, you'll have the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and will be confident presenting to audiences of all levels. You will be self-motivated with good project management and organisational skills and demonstrate a learner-led mindset, willing to adapt your style and approach to deliver effective learning of a wide variety of learners. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • + A good knowledge of working within a multi-site retailer + Experience in delivering effective and inclusive management development programmes + An understanding of creating accessible content driven by application of adult learning theories. + Excellent knowledge of MS PowerPoint & MS Teams + Training or coaching qualification (desirable, not essential) or equivalent relevant experience + Psychometrics experience or understanding e.g. DISC/Myers Briggs/Insights (desirable, not essential)

    We are recruiting for two roles; one permanent and one fixed term contract until March 2026, covering a secondment. Additionally, this is a home-based position, with travel across our offices and retail sites. At the BHF we believe in the power of being together.
