We, at Travis Perkins, have a brilliant opportunity for a Learning & Development Trainer working alongside Travis Perkins Hire. You will join our collaborative Learning and Development team with an opportunity to deliver training to the business in the South East Regions. You will be working with our Tool Hire businesses and helping them to develop their skills, commercial awareness and therefore increasing sales. You will also be looking to constantly improve the training provided and strive to support the hire teams at any given opportunity. This role will include field based training and does include a company vehicle. Alongside the above you will also be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of multi-channel learning & development to achieve specific learning objectives and behaviour changes and to provide self-help resources at the point of need.
  • Continually review, develop and present training modules to ensure compliance to an agreed standard of safety and presentation.
  • Delivery of improved performance standards through training that supports senior management to raise the capability and desired behaviours of Tool Hire colleagues within all brands that offer Tool Hire.
  • Work with other Trainers and the L&D Manager to support the achievement of business objectives. Proactively look for ways to continuously improve the colleague experience and ease of use of the learning resources.
  • Administration, maintenance and continuous development of the Learning Experience Platform (Thrive) to deliver, organise and record learning to ensure legal compliance and effective induction and development.
  • Maintain and develop a network of local technical/subject matter experts to provide role modelling and guidance to colleagues in their region., Taking ownership of your career development is important if you want to achieve professional success.     Are you an excellent communicator with the ability to influence others and deliver high levels of standards to customers, colleagues and stakeholders?
  • Do you have a sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations and requirements? Are you able to demonstrate financial, commercial and business awareness?,
  • Can demonstrate a track record of coaching/ supporting/delivering training to others to improve their capability and development.
  • A hands-on person technically minded - can understand mechanical/ electrical basic concepts of Hire Machinery.
  • Ability to create and write engaging and effective training materials.
  • Clear communication skills - face-to-face, in writing and remotely.
  • Ability and willingness for frequent regional and sometimes national travel to effectively execute the role.
  • Able to understand and communicate technical and business concepts
