Full Job Description

  • To address the needs of pupils needing help and support to overcome barriers to learning ensuring they receive appropriate support
  • To support school staff with approaches for regulation and behaviour of pupils
  • Being a first responder to crisis behaviour situations and following school policies and procedures to support those involved.
  • To lead in therapeutic/social and emotional interventions and to plan and lead extracurricular activities to help improve pupils' behaviour, co-operation and social skills.
  • Develop and maintain 1:1 mentoring and other supportive relationships
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with families/carers and other outside agencies
  • Facilitate access to specialist support services for pupils

    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to work in a Learning Mentor role within our friendly and ambitious school. Experience of working with pupils with a range of complex needs is desirable and a passion for enabling pupils with SEND to achieve their full potential is essential.

    Woodlands School is a broad-spectrum special school catering for pupils aged 4 -19 years.
