Carlton le Willows are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to join our academy as soon as possible on a full time, permanent basis.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 28 November 2024.
Your new role
As a Learning Mentor, you will provide support and guidance to children and young people by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation in learning opportunities, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve full potential.
As post-16 learning mentor you will support students in their independent study; a key skill required for success at A-level. This will involve leading on provision in our directed study hub where students complete their independent study during the school day. You will support students in study organisation, accessing study materials and directing study tasks in order to promote high achievement in our already successful sixth form.
The successful candidate will also work alongside curriculum leads within school to ensure students have access to the subject specific resources required as well as working alongside the rest of the sixth form team to promote the best outcomes for our students. The post 16 learning mentor will be involved in directing interventions through the process of data review across the year.
As post 16 learning mentor you will have high expectations of our students and the ability to support and nurture them, as well as motivate and enthuse them in their independent study.
Hours: 37 hours per week / Term Time only plus 5 Days (39 Weeks) / Permanent.

With a consistent record of high academic attainment, Carlton le Willows remains one of the top performing schools in the area. In summer 2023 78% of pupils secured a Grade 4+ in English and Maths and 55% achieved this at grade 5+. Across the board 76% of pupils achieved grade 4+ in five or more GCSEs and our progress score was +0.2 placing us above similar schools nationally.
A level students in our high performing sixth form achieved a 100% pass rate in 2023, with the average A level grade a B minus, retaining our reputation for academic excellence post 16.
