Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Business and IT) to join The Bedford College Group at our Kingsway Campus in Dunstable

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Business and IT), you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Providing support to students with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a specialist setting across all aspects of their college curriculum.

  • Providing overall care of the student and enable him/her to access the college facilities and develop independence within the wider community.

  • Being an active member of the Foundation Team and assisting in the development of individual programmes and the assessment of student progress.

    Ideal candidates will have:

  • Educated to Level 2 in Maths and English

  • Relevant L3 qualification or willingness to work towards

  • Working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

  • Experience of providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational or care setting

  • Ability to contribute to a high-quality learning experience and welcoming environment for all students

  • Ability to consistently demonstrate high levels of performance in the job role

  • Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone

  • A willingness to work on all sites, and access to own transport.

  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in the area and College

    The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
