Plumpton College is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional learning support to students with diverse needs. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in an educational environment and want to contribute to student success.,

  • Work with individual students or small groups, supporting them with their academic journey.
  • Develop learning plans tailored to student needs, ensuring they understand their tasks and objectives.
  • Foster independent learning while offering the support needed for students to succeed academically and socially.
  • Collaborate with teachers to contribute to lesson planning and ensure that learning materials are accessible and effective.
  • Assist students with reading, writing, and exam preparations, ensuring equal opportunities for success.
  • Be an advocate for students, ensuring their voices are heard and their well-being is a priority.

    Experience working with young people who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with solid IT skills.
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • A passion for supporting students to reach their full potential.
  • Desirable:
  • A qualification in Learning Support or a related field.
  • Experience in welfare, pastoral care, or safeguarding.
