We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant at a vibrant primary school in Mitcham, Southwest London!, As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide targeted support in both small groups and 1:1 sessions, helping students to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential. - Support individual students or small groups of children in class, helping them with tasks and providing tailored assistance.
- Assist in the delivery of learning activities, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated.
- Help children with specific learning or behavioral needs to access the curriculum.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their self-confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to plan and adapt learning activities.
- Provide feedback on students' progress and help track their development.
- Support the classroom management and create an inclusive and supportive environment.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Ideally, experience working with children in a school or educational setting (though not essential).
- A positive, proactive attitude and a desire to make a difference.
- An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
