We wish to appoint a highly motivated, energetic and passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to teach Sport and PE lessons under the direction of our PE teacher.

The successful applicant will be passionate about working with all children, helping them to access physical activity and sport enthusiastically and successfully. They will show willingness to work in partnership with teachers, LSAs and other professionals to give our children a high-quality PE curriculum. They will need to work under the direction of the PE teacher but must demonstrate that they can work on their own initiative. The successful candidate's salary will be set to reflect skills and qualifications and their competence to work alone, out of sight from the assigned class teacher/PE teacher/leader or off-site.

The duties include supporting play and sporting provision at break and lunchtimes, ensuring that children have access to physical exercise and that they develop social skills and positive play competencies through group and individual activities.

The post holder will possess effective communication skills and will interact professionally with children and our staff team to ensure that children get the most out of provided learning activities and play. We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude who show a good understanding of young people and can work with pupils, responding to particular approaches to engage them successfully.

We are ideally looking for someone with a good standard of education - English and Maths minimum GCSE grade C.

Previous experience of sports coaching or work with young people would be an advantage but training and mentoring will be provided. The post holder may be required to undertake first aid training. This post might suit someone with aspirations to teach in the future and an openness to further training and development.
