Full Job Description
1) Support for pupils
- Work with and support pupils who have additional needs within the 'broad areas of need' as outlined in the SEN code of practice 2015; Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and Sensory and/or physical needs.
- Help pupils to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with their learning, as well as emotional well-being.
- Support pupils to access tasks and activities that they find challenging both inside the classroom. 2) Support for teachers
- Provide one-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials.
- Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment.
- In conjunction with teacher, liaise with parents and pupil progress. 3) SEN Administration support
- Support the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) with administrative duties related to SEN students, including tracking progress, managing documentation, and maintaining records.
- Coordinate meetings and communication with parents, external agencies, and other professionals.
- Help with the preparation of reports, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure that all SEN-related paperwork is up to date, accurate, and compliant with relevant regulations and school policies. What the school offers its staff

- A dedicated Behaviour Team who support teachers with behaviour around the school site daily, run internal exclusions and detentions
- Access to the RAS (Raising Aspirations Team) who help and support students pastorally. Team members are trained in a variety of counselling and interventions to support students

We also have a Resourced Provision Unit for Hearing Impaired (HI) pupils. We have a part time Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) and a Learning Support Assistant who works very closely with the TOD.
