Full Job Description

  • To work under the supervision and guidance of the tutor with students with mild / moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities within the Horizons area
  • To work with the ALS Manager, LSP& EHCP Coordinator, Lead LSPs and SENCO in advising teaching staff on appropriate strategies for working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities and complex needs
  • To provide one-to-one and group support, both direct and indirect, for students with learning difficulties and disabilities following foundation courses, primarily in the learning environment

    A level 2 or above qualification or equivalent in relevant subject area.
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent
  • Experience of providing effective coaching for students on an individual basis or in a group setting to support success and progression
  • Demonstrate an ability to support, monitor and track the learner progress including attendance, behaviour, and completion of vocational activity
  • Understanding of academic and vocational education in a College setting.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to raising the attainment and self esteem of all students
