Full Job Description

The Supported and Inclusive Learning team are looking to recruit several Learning Support Workers with a mixture of contract hours, to work as part of our dynamic, inclusive team.

At Leicester College we do our best to ensure all students are engaged with learning and able to progress to their potential. The Supported and Inclusive Learning team work with students who require a range of support to fully access the curriculum and the college environment. This could be supporting a group or providing 1:1 support to an individual student, both in the classroom and/or in the community.

We have positions available for Learning Support Workers who are passionate about engaging and inspiring young people who have learning disabilities and who have a range of special educational needs that may include autism, health, physical, emotional, and behavioural support needs. The role may also include assisting students with personal care, eating, drinking, administering medication and pushing wheelchairs.

We are looking for applicants who understand the role of support within education, have a commitment to enabling students and developing their communication and independence skills. You will be highly motivated, flexible, able to work as a team and use your own initiative. You will have good communication skills with the ability to work with teachers and other support workers and provide feedback on student progress.

The successful applicants will hold or be willing to work towards:

Level 2 English and maths qualification

Level 2 Learning Support or Health and Social Care qualification

We have a variety of permanent contracts to offer ranging from 12 hours per week up to 24 hours per week. Working days are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 4.00pm. The position is for 38 weeks per year (term time only) with a variety of working patterns available.

If you are looking for a job where each day you can make a difference, embed inclusive practice in all that you do, have a passion for learning, embrace diversity and respond well to change, then we want you to join our team.
