Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Learning and Teaching Coach to join The Bedford College Group based in Bedfordshire or Northamptonshrire, with travel between all sites.

As a Learning and Teaching Coach you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Working effectively as a member of the Quality Improvement team

  • Being a role model for best practice in learning, teaching and assessment

  • Coaching, inspiring and developing all teaching staff to outstanding quality of education

  • Promoting high standards of learning, teaching and assessment to support TBCG towards excellence in the quality of education for all

  • Assisting new teaching staff through personalised development activities as part of am impactful induction process

  • Teaching and assessing on the Teacher Education programmes across the group, including undertaking observations to support trainee teachers

  • Researching and implement innovation in learning, teaching and assessment

  • Supporting and deliver appropriate professional development to enable outstanding quality of education

  • Maintaining and further develop curriculum and subject specialism(s) and champion the implementation of TBCG's Learning and Teaching Strategy

  • Carrying out all aspects of the role in line with The Bedford College Group's (TBCG) culture and values

  • To ensure the student experience is kept at the heart of everything your Directorate does

    Ideal candidates will have:

  • Full teaching qualification (PCGE, Cert Ed, QTS)

  • Degree and/or vocational training at an equivalent level in a relevant subject

  • English and Maths GCSE (A-C) or equivalent (Level 2)

  • Commitment to work towards a Masters degree

  • History of outstanding and innovative teaching practice

  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role

  • Substantial recent experience of teaching and assessing on a range of levels

  • A willingness to further develop and area of specialism and to share this expertise across the group

  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Office (Microsoft office, Word, Excel etc.)

  • Ability to travel to other college campus locations as required

    The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
