The main purpose of the role is to be the first part of contact for residents and leaseholders who wish to purchase their home, extend their lease, make alteration in their homes or buy unused spaces or selling the freehold of the building.

The Role:

Joining our new and fast-growing team, within the Home Ownership department, you will be the point of contact for managing the Right to Buy (RTB) scheme, leasehold alterations, lease extensions, enfranchisements, ad hoc sales, party wall matters and other requests/changes requiring landlord's permission and payment of a premium.

Responsibilities:

-You will be responsible for advising tenants on the RTB scheme and ensuring applications are processed within the statutory timescales.
-Process all applications from leaseholders around alterations in accordance with good practice and to protect the Council's building asset.
-Responsible for advising leaseholders on voluntary and the statutory lease extension and to manage the process.
-To manage the process where owners of flats in a building, and sometimes part of a building, join together to buy the freehold of that building.
-To manage all ad hoc requests to buy additional space.
-To ensure statutory regulations and the Council's decision-making process and contract regulations as set out in the Constitution are applied and adhered to.
-To be the main lead on the contract between the Council's and its appointed valuation consultant.

About You:

We're looking for experience in dealing with lease extensions , alteration, enfranchisements & Ad-hoc sales and Right to Buy applications, or someone who has experience in housing or is welling to learn on the job and is a fast learner . But what matters are excellent customer care skills and communication skills, both faces to face and over the phone.

As for other skills, you should be well-organised and have a deep knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Housing Acts, Landlord and Tenant Acts, Section 42 of the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, and the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act.
