Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development and training of prospective Midwives undergoing the BSc (Hons) Midwifery Practice in the vibrant School of Nursing and Health Sciences and to contribute to the promotion of teaching, research and reach-out activities across the Faculty. You will join our creative team of nursing and Midwifery educators and contribute to our thriving partnership with schools, colleges and healthcare providers.
We are seeking a versatile academic with specialist knowledge of Midwifery to deliver key components of our innovative courses. This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. What you can bring The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience to support our endeavours to provide an excellent and safe learning experience for the students both on campus and in the clinical areas. To support the development of the midwives of the future to develop the regional workforce. The role also requires the successful candidate to take be an autonomous practitioner who can offer expert knowledge, guidance and support to the student midwife and the wider team. They will offer support to the practice placement providers to ensure the NMC requirements are met. You will have a degree or higher qualification in midwifery and a post graduate qualification in education would be preferable. You will also have substantial experience in supporting, supervising and assessing students in the practice setting.
