Full Job Description
We are investing in exciting new positions to further align our teaching, research and knowledge exchange portfolio and applications are invited for the role of Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Therapy. To succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate a contemporary knowledge and understanding of current practice in your area of rehabilitation. You will be enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy and you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be engaged in research and knowledge-exchange activities which may include innovative CPD, short course activities and developing personal areas of research scholarship and professional expertise. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level., The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences provides a vibrant and innovative environment for innovation and is made up of five academic departments: Rehabilitation and Sport Sciences, Medical Science and Public Health, Nursing Science, Midwifery and Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Social Work. Located in the state of the art Bournemouth Gateway Building, we offer an outstanding range of facilities coupled with access to the most up to date technology and equipment. The vision of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sport Sciences is to provide high-quality education and research that supports excellence to the benefit of all those who access sport, exercise and rehabilitative health care services, nationally and globally. The department is a supportive community of staff, practitioners, students and service users who work in partnership.
You will be qualified to doctorate level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level (i.e. research publications) and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment. You must be a qualified Sports Therapist and registered with the Society of Sports Therapy (or international or British equivalents).
This position will not typically meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service's Points Based System, unless exceptional circumstances apply, e.g. meeting the 'new entrant' criteria.
