Bedford College are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling Department at our Bedford College Campus

As an Associate Lecturer in Childcare, you will play a key role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of Early Years and Primary Education course including T Level and other similarqualifications, courses and levels.

  • Working alongside employers in establishing and maintaining vocationally relevant industry placement opportunities and experiences for all students.

  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.

  • Managing students' learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.

  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in curriculum and innovative teaching.

  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.

  • Keeping CPD in industry knowledge up to date., Successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate alignment to our organisational values:

They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.

    Ideal candidates will have:

  • Level 4 (and above) qualifications in Early Years or Primary Education related studies

  • Experience in the Early Years or Primary Education sector

  • Willingness to work towards the Certificate in Education qualification

  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year

  • Evidence of recent sector updating

  • Working or have worked within the Early Years or Primary Education sector

  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area

  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to prepare schemes of work and lesson plans

  • Flexible approach to work and working times
