Full Job Description
South Devon College is recruiting for a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering to deliver high-quality lecturers in Engineering. As a professional Lecturer you will be required to undertake formal scheduled teaching duties as follows: teaching, tutorials, and student assessment. You will contribute to the development and update of course materials, lesson plans, and resources to ensure they are current and relevant. An essential part of this role is to provide skills training demonstrating various techniques and the use of equipment related to engineering activities.
The role will participate in the development and review of the curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of the students and employers, whilst meeting the industry standards and requirements. The role will assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, monitor attendance and support students to achieve their learning objectives whilst fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Working within the Engineering team and wider Technology curriculum team, the role will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive experience across all provision types: Young People, Adults and Apprentices.
The successful applicant will hold a level 3 qualification relating to engineering practices within an electrical engineering specialism, in addition to GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade 4 or above. You will have experience working within the engineering sector with the ability to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the wider disciplines associated with the engineering sector.
