Full Job Description

  • To deliver high quality teaching across the full range of the department's Level 3 A Level Physics/Science provision.
  • Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.

    We are looking for a Lecturer in A Level Physics within our Academic & Creative Studies team. This may include some delivery across both the Newcastle and Stafford sites. Delivery of Physics elements within L3 BTEC Applied Science/T level Lab Science programs may also be required alongside Yr 12/13 A Level Physics.
  • Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer who has a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and used this to help them reach their true potential. Based in our A level department, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player. As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with a Physics or related degree. You will have or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (DTLLS or equivalent).,
  • Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or willingness to obtain.
  • Ideally has relevant teaching experience within FE.
  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.

    Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (a higher level of salary negotiable dependent on relevant experience and qualifications) Employer Pension Contributions up to £11,440 Golden Hello Payment: up to £5,000 OR DfE bursary of up to £6,000 (if in 1st 5 years of teaching subject to terms & conditions), The college offers and excellent benefits package which includes:
