Full Job Description

The successful candidates will have experience of developing and delivering simulation-based learning across all levels of the academic programmes and have expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary nursing practice. They will have a keen interest in developments in the field of simulation and be able to show that they can effectively lead on and support placement learning in a clinical simulated environment through the development of high-quality simulation-based education. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will teach across a range of courses and will be required to act as module leader and/or course leader. Additionally, as a Senior Lecturer the successful candidate will be expected to take a key role in supporting academic and technical staff to enhance clinical skills and simulation-based education. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to research outputs and knowledge transfer activities linked to simulation and other
appropriate areas.

Please note we will consider applicants undertaking master's level study if they are able to demonstrate commitment and have suitable experience of simulation.
Nursing and Trainee Nursing Associate programmes are delivered in a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes.

An opportunity has arisen within the School of Nursing and Midwifery for a Registered Nurse to join our highly committed pre-registration nursing team as a Senior Lecturer for Simulated Clinical Learning (Nursing). The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, visionary, and keen to shape nurse education. Candidates must hold a professional teaching qualifications or membership of the HE Academy., Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a first level nurse, have a higher degree or equivalent in a health-related subject level and have a recognised teaching qualification. A PhD /professional doctorate is desirable.
