You should be a qualified counsellor, be in current practice, and be a registered member of BACP. An understanding of current counselling education and practice within the wider context is necessary. Candidates should have experience of CPCAB, the awarding body, and delivering and assessing on external portfolios., Suitable candidates must be a Level 4 CPCAB counselling tutor with membership to the BACP. The minimum requirements are:
- 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at Level 4 or above
- 10 hours of personal therapy and member of a professional counselling or psychotherapy association
- Completed 30 hours per year of CPD activities
- Current supervised counselling practise with a minimum of 6 months post-qualifying practice experience.
- Hold a teaching qualification or be working towards this
- 1-year teaching and assessing at level 2 and 3 or above In addition, applicants should possess excellent teamwork and organisational skills as well as good IT skills. Experience teaching in the FE sector would also be beneficial to the role.
