We currently deliver three taught programmes, including our highly esteemed BSc optometry programme and innovative Masters provision:

  • Introduction to Optometry
  • BSc (Hons) Optometry
  • MOptom
  • MSc Clinical Optometry
  • We strive to incorporate innovative teaching methods wherever possible to increase student engagement and attainment, and students at all levels report high levels of satisfaction with the quality of our teaching. This is an exciting new appointment with City St George's, University London, School of Health and Psychological Sciences, with strong links to clinical practice. It brings together one of the leading academic institutions in health sciences teaching and research with quality care for families, children, and communities. The candidate will contribute to curriculum and educational development the through the integration of scholarship, and professional activities with support for learning. They will support and mentor undergraduate/ postgraduate students, aiding their education and professional development. We are seeking to appoint two outstanding Lecturer's in Optometry and Visual Sciences who has extensive clinical experience and experience of teaching within this field. As a Lecturer, the postholder will provide high quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This is a diverse and dynamic role in which a high-calibre candidate will have the opportunity to develop and extend their academic career.

Our strong and positive relationships with ophthalmology departments and leading optometrists allow us to pull together an outstanding team of academics, visiting clinical tutors and guest lecturers for our programmes.

    Interviews are scheduled to take place on 8th and 9th January 2025. The selection process will involve an interview and a presentation. Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
