Full Job Description
Whilst maintaining a clinical role related to cancer nursing practice, the Lecturer/Practitioner will also spend 2 days a week (15 hours) seconded to the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care and Midwifery (NMPC), Kings College London (KCL) as a specialist nurse acting as module lead for the pre-registration option module related to end of life care. The successful applicant will also make a significant contribute to cancer care and cancer nursing education for students on the pre-registration MSc and BSc programmes., The secondee will be supported to develop their education and teaching skills as well as the governance processes related to managing a module. The secondee will have a nominated mentor and will be part of the Department of Adult Nursing for the duration of the secondment. The secondment will be for one year in the first instance leading to an extension with agreement of all parties., Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and material which foster student engagement
Contribute to teaching content, design and delivery and update and expand upon as required
Provide effective role modelling and leadership in practice learning when working with students and supporting mentors
Student support
Identify when students require additional support and signpost to appropriate support services and personnel
Support development of academic literacy for students on modules
Management
Manage time to ensure balance between practice and college activities
Work with the link lecturing team, clinical staff and the Faculty's Health and Safety team to maintain the Health and Safety of students
Participate in quality assurance strategies and audit
Support the recruitment process and undertake interviews for entry to the pre-registration programme
Administration
Maintain student records according to Faculty and College Guidance
