Background and role

An exciting opportunity to join our Tourism, Hospitality and Events Section in Christ Church Business School. We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, research-driven individuals with relevant and current experience to contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, REF and NSS successes. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional student learning experience. This will involve demonstrating creativity and innovation in planning and conducting seminars, workshops, tutorials, dissertations, and business project supervision. You will also be involved in various learning opportunities, including face-to-face and blended delivery.

Christ Church Business School is recruiting an increasing number of undergraduate and postgraduate students and growing our collaborative partnerships across the globe from Hong Kong through mainland China, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Cyprus and Greece to London. To support this expansion, we are now seeking to make a number of new academic appointments across the Business School, offering you the opportunity to be part of our diverse and inclusive academic environment.

The Person

Applicants should have a doctorate or equivalent qualification and experience working as a lecturer or senior lecturer in higher education. The applicants should have specialist subject knowledge and/or practice in Hospitality and Events Management and an ability to teach across levels to students on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing curriculum development. You will provide high-quality management of modules and/or courses in Tourism, Hospitality, and Events, as well as pastoral and academic advice to students. You will demonstrate a proactive approach to implementing established quality assurance processes and contributing to the design and implementation of quality enhancement initiatives, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

You will be committed to research, enterprise and/or scholarship of practice, be open to internal and external collaboration and demonstrate your independent research, enterprise and/or scholarship of practice potential in an area that complements or strengthens existing activity within the Business School.
