Full Job Description

Learning from the Lives and Deaths of People with a Learning Disability and Autistic People (LeDeR) (previously known as Learning Disability Mortality Review Programme) has been in place across North East London since 2017. This is part of a national service improvement programme; the LeDeR Programme seeks to identify factors influencing health inequality and premature deaths in order to influence effective change in health and social care provision for people with learning disability and autistic adults.

NHS North East London ICB has made good progress in the implementation of the LeDeR Programme policy and has established strong partnership working with partners and we are now at a stage where we are starting to influence change to enable better health outcomes for people with a learning disability and autism.

Do you have the experience of working in or around the field of learning disability and or autistic adults and keen to be part of the LeDeR Programme team, to makes a meaningful contribution to improving health outcomes for learning disability people and autistic adults?

This is a full-time post, 1.0wte (37.5 hours/week). The LeDeR Programme Team is open to considering applications for flexible and hybrid working (working from home and from specified sites).

We are working with local people and partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority in the next year will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our Out of Hospital Strategy.

We can only do this with great staff who are encouraged and supported, which is why we invest in them, listen to them, make sure we are representative of our populations and that we foster their health and wellbeing.

Please note that all vacancies will be subject to a 6 months' probation period in line with the Probation Policy.

We are looking to appoint a LeDeR Reviewer (band 6 full-time) to support the NEL LeDeR Programme Team to further strengthen local LeDeR Review processes and drive effective local change by identifying and sharing learning as well as good practice from completed LeDeR reviews.

The post holder will be required to undertake LeDeR reviews across NHS North East London foot print. Working hours can be flexible but will need to meet the needs of the programme.

You will need to be clinical (a nurse or therapist or senior social worker by background) with a good understanding on the field of learning disability practice and or autistic adults, with the ability to develop a deep understanding of our local communities and building relationships both inside and outside of the organisation.

You will need to have a positive attitude, be a team player, a flair for high quality communications, and the ability to work in a fast-paced as well as politically sensitive environment.
