Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a General Ledger Accountant.

We are looking for someone passionate about delivering an efficient and effective accounting service, using their skills day in and day out to make Games Workshop even better!

As General Ledger Accountant, you will be a key member of our ledger accounting team which forms part of the wider finance department. Reporting to the Senior Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for the accounting of several individual business units within Games Workshop.

You will need the ability to navigate through financial complexity to be able to take ownership and responsibility for driving process efficiencies while constantly striving to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our accounting records through examination and validation.

With a keen eye for detail, you will prepare and review our balance sheet and profit and loss account ensuring meticulous reconciliation that will stand up to audit scrutiny alongside supporting in the preparation of monthly, half year, and year-end accounts, ensuring submission of final figures to the group reporting team for consolidation.

With a focus on continuous improvement, you will have the ability to address systemic issues impacting the ledger integrity by collaborating with IT or other relevant departments. You will have a methodical approach and also take responsibility for the accurate and timely submission of all agreed-upon reports.

You will be working across different areas of the business, so your commercial acumen and ability to understand key business drivers within a complex business setting will be key, always ensuring that information flows seamlessly.

You will be comfortable communicating effectively with staff at all levels of the business, being an excellent problem solver with a can-do attitude, being keen to research and recommend solutions, and having both the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to consistency, ensuring that all tasks are completed with the highest level of accuracy while remaining inquisitive to support the evolution of processes.

Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with an in-depth understanding of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, having previously worked within management accounting, financial accounting, or financial auditing. You will have a strong proficiency in Excel to an advanced level, including lookups and pivot tables, with experience in ERP accounting software.
