Full Job Description
This is a full-time role, working Monday Friday, 9am-5pm, at our Gottlieb Packaging site in Trafford Park, Manchester. The successful candidate will primarily focus on a range of administrative tasks, including manually checking paperwork and producing customer invoices via SAGE 50. We are therefore seeking someone who can handle these tasks while also being able to take on more advanced accounts administration work as they become more experienced. Over time, this individual will be expected to provide cover and deputise for the Accounts Manager during absences. Please note, given our office location and the surrounding area's traffic, we would prefer candidates who live within approximately 5 miles of our site (postcode: M17 1SB) to ensure a manageable daily commute. What you ll do
- Accurately and promptly process sales, purchase, and invoicing documentation using both manual input and auto-entry.
- Set up accounts on SAGE.
- Respond to supplier and customer inquiries.
- Check and record a variety of administrative transactions.
- Reconcile credit card statements and daily transactions.
- Liaise with warehouse staff regarding paperwork and stock queries.
- Support the Accounts department in daily, monthly, and annual reporting processes.
- Work closely with the Accounts Manager and Buyer to ensure stock records on SAGE are always up to date.
- Answer calls as needed; take messages and orders when trained.
- Perform other ad-hoc office tasks as required.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in sales and purchase ledger, accounting administration, and invoicing. The ideal Ledger Clerk will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively. They should have strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to handle repetitive tasks without becoming disengaged. A solid understanding of IT operations is also required, particularly with SAGE LINE 50, MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
