Legacy Mentor-Palliative and End of Life Care

Are you passionate about workplace wellbeing for staff?, The position is part of a fixed term project for 2 years for 22.5 per week. The End of Life Care Legacy Mentor is an experienced healthcare professional. They will be helping newly appointed staff or staff and students in training, by imparting their knowledge, skills and experience through coaching and clinical supervision.

They will need to demonstrate empathy and patience, be passionate about our clinical services and be able to provide pastoral support to others. We can all reflect on the importance of mentors and role models in our own careers, and this is an opportunity to have that kind of influence on the incoming generation as they set out on a career in health and care. As well as providing ongoing support to continuing professional development.

This role will be key in supporting our colleagues to stay and to stay well. Legacy Mentors will need to be confident in building relationships and collaborating with others. They will be providing coaching and mentoring and will be given any necessary training to develop this skill. They will be the lead for health and wellbeing across the organisation.

In addition to mentoring newly qualified professionals, they will also support practice placements for learners, and liaise with other practice placement support staff to ensure consistency of support across the setting.

Hospice at Homes core service is its skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide exceptional care and support in peoples last year of life and at end of life, also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.

We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.

Our clinical service area covers a mixture of urban and rural communities, a region of approximately 1,500 square miles throughout North and East Cumbria.
