Full Job Description

Cheshire West and Chester Council are seeking to appoint a Legal Assistant to join an established and successful in-house Safeguarding Legal Team.

This is a rare opportunity for a talented individual to join the high performing Legal Safeguarding team in Cheshire West and Chester.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, hardworking, and able team player with a "can do attitude". Experience of working in Legal Safeguarding would be advantageous but not essential. Your potential, motivation, work ethic and ability and desire to work as an intrinsic part of a successful and energetic team is more important.

The post holder will be required to develop the ability to provide high quality legal advice to Social Work colleagues to ensure the statutory duties of the Council are met and vulnerable children and adults in the Borough are protected.

Responsibilities will include the provision of duty legal advice to Social Work colleagues under the supervision of more experienced colleagues, reviewing evidence, making applications to the Family Court and Court of Protection, attending legal meetings with social work colleagues, external professionals and lawyers., Disability Confident

The role is offered on a full time permanent basis.

The salary range will be determined on experience of the successful candidate (please see Job Description and Person Specification).

Grade 7- (SCP 17- 23) £28,770- £32,076
