Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated, engaged and enthusiastic individual to join our Legal Team on an interim basis to support for 8 months maternity cover. Here you'll get to: Coordinate Options Meetings

  • Work with the LBA team to review the state of all deals prior to monthly option meetings and provide assistance where needed.
  • Assist the LBA team in compiling agenda for monthly option meetings.
  • Provide an Accurate and Timely Administrative Legal Service to WCM
  • Draft letters in relation to contract requirements i.e. end of contract/re-negotiation/offer letter to renew.
  • Chase responses to letters, liaising with songwriters' representatives as and when required.
  • Assist LBA team in ensuring letters regarding options to extend or cancel are sent out in good time and that invoices are received from clients in respect of advances and other payments, chasing invoices when necessary.
  • Ensure all legal letters and draft contracts are approved by the Head of Legal and Business Affairs before being issued.
  • Use WCM's payment system to have all payments approved and processed.
  • Circulate fully executed agreements and notify the Copyright and Royalty departments.
  • Liaise with Copyright and Royalties Departments regarding contractual copyright issues.
  • Carry out ad hoc research on matters of interest, as and when required.
  • Manage General Administrative Support Duties
  • Assist LBA team with overall administration support including ensuring the filing systems within the department are maintained.
  • Take minutes at meetings as directed.

    You will be flexible, enthusiastic and have an effective approach to the role.
  • You will have the ability to prioritise workload efficiently and follow up on open issues until they are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Adept at working in Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with a real focused attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • You will enjoy working autonomously and as part of a team

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal would be an advantage.
