Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven dispute resolution lawyer who is keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing company which is focused on building Ebury's brand. The successful candidate will provide high quality legal advice to key stakeholders in Spain, the United Kingdom and overseas and be pivotal to Ebury's development on a global scale. The person who fills this role will have day-to-day responsibility for assisting with contentious matters arising from Ebury's business and will report to the Senior Legal Counsel (Litigation).,

  • Advising internal stakeholders, including the senior management, Front Office, Risk and HR functions, on group-wide dispute resolution;

  • Managing a broad range of complaints and pre-action disputes, employee and commercial litigation and contentious regulatory matters (including drafting correspondence and claim-related documentation);

  • Instructing and managing English and overseas counsel where specialist advice is required and ensuring that legal spend on contentious matters is optimised; Providing timely reporting on all contentious matters to senior management; and Monitoring legal developments relevant to the group's activities with a view to minimising the risk of disputes and driving process change where required to reduce group-wide litigation risk.

    A proactive mindset and an ability to communicate effectively in practical terms with stakeholders at all levels of the group;

  • At least 3 years of professional experience, either in private practice or in-house, practising as a qualified lawyer with commercial litigation experience;

  • UK commercial litigation experience, as well as a willingness to assist with disputes in other jurisdictions where appropriate;

  • Experience of advising financial services providers on contentious matters (with a working knowledge of relevant rules, common law principles and key financial services regulations);

  • Experience of employment-related disputes would also be helpful (but is not a prerequisite); and

  • An ability in a fast paced environment to prioritise and manage a wide range of competing priorities (with support from other team members and external advisers where necessary).
