Full Job Description

  • Provide legal support and advice to our group companies including contract reviews, notes of advice and drafting various agreements such as construction contracts, design agreements and joint venture agreements.
  • Provide comprehensive support for construction projects in all legal matters during all phases of the construction lifecycle starting from reviewing legal documentation at the tender phase through to project completion e.g. negotiation of final settlement of warranty claims.
  • Be responsible for procuring and steering cooperation with external law firms.Collaborate with the group company's other central divisions such as business compliance.

    You are qualified as a solicitor under the laws of England and Wales (or another common law jurisdiction). You have completed your law degree or appropriate conversion degree(s). Post-graduate studies in construction law are appreciated but are not obligatory.
  • The ideal candidate at least 2-4 years' experience working in the UK construction industry (both in a legal and non-legal capacity). Non-contentious construction law experience is desirable.
  • You will have experience with all standard forms of construction contract, particularly the NEC and JCT forms. You will also have an interest in public procurement law and are eager to develop expertise in other practice areas.
  • High level of comprehension and pragmatic mindset: You offer a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach in your legal advice to our internal clients, and you are able to support contract negotiations.You also understand the economic and technical implications of the advice being provided.
  • You are a self-motivated individual with a pro-active approach. You have a strong drive for action and personal responsibility and also enjoy communicating with internal clients as well as colleagues. Team spirit is crucial.
