Full Job Description

The Crown Estate is a unique business and we are seeking a Legal Counsel to support the Senior Legal Counsel (London and Regional) in relation to the delivery of all aspects of the provision of high quality legal services to the London and Regional strategic business units (SBUs). This includes the oversight of transactional, litigation and other legal advice in support of their corporate strategy and objectives, in accordance with The Crown Estate's wider strategic and governance framework., You will need to develop a detailed understanding of the Crown Estate Act 1961, in order to advise both the business and our external advisors. Working with the SBUs and the panel law firms, you will assist on significant transactions, contentious/sensitive matters and developments, as well as "business as usual" activities.

You will need to demonstrate a commercial approach and be a team player, displaying a can-do attitude to facilitate implementation of strategy.     You will be a qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience (ideally 4 to 8 years) in all aspects of commercial real estate. Experience in the following areas is desirable: non-contentious construction work; public procurement; joint ventures; residential real estate and contentious work. You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of what is required to fulfil an in-house legal role.
