Full Job Description

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to provide pro-active and effective Legal support to the business and operations activities of Technip Energies and its UK Operating Center in particular. The Legal Counsel should:

  • Have excellent drafting and analytical skills
  • Be at ease (and should have previous experience) with contractual and commercial negotiations with clients and other relevant stakeholders, for supporting / leading negotiations
  • Be able to independently prepare, review and interpret legal documents
  • Be able to cover tender reviews, contracts qualifications / deviations, risk assessment & mitigation plan of contracts including engineering agreements, FEED, EPC, MOUs and technology licence agreements
  • Be able to prepare standard terms for documents such as purchase orders, subcontracts and flow down conditions
  • Provide support to other relevant functions of the company including Procurement, Subcontracts, People & Culture, IT etc.
  • Support on miscellaneous legal issues as may be brought to an in-house counsel
  • Support Technip Energies by delivering training and communicating lessons learned
  • Be able to advise the business on compliance matters with the support of the Legal Compliance team.

    Must Have
  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 4-6 years PQE
  • Experience in domestic and/or international energy projects (Infrastructure/ Oil & Gas/ Renewable Energy etc.)
  • Fluency in business and legal English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to handle complex contract structures under high stress
  • Great communication skills, particularly in engaging with diverse stakeholders (commercial, technical, management).

  • Expertise with NEC contract
  • Some in-house experience preferred but not essential.
