Full Job Description

AEGIS London are seeking a Legal Counsel to join the business and work closely with the General Counsel and Assistant Company Secretary to oversee and advise on all commercial contracts. This is an exciting role within a small team offering broad exposure for someone looking to further their career within insurance or make a transition from practice to a high performing Syndicate.,

  • Reviewing all commercial contracts to which the Company is a party
  • Advising on appropriate terms and conditions for such contracts
  • Advising on data protection issues
  • Assisting with developing and maintaining a suite of standard contractual clauses
  • Liaising with the Company's outsourcing manager with regard to outsourcing relationships
  • Assisting the General Counsel and Assistant Company Secretary with regard to general governance matters
  • Working with the General Counsel with regard to horizon scanning for legal developments that might affect the Company, We make decisions considering the best interests of key stakeholders.   • At least two years' PQE in commercial private practice and/or in-house
  • Knowledge of commercial contractual issues
  • Experience with advising on data protection matters
  • A willingness to develop experience in company and corporate governance matters (no prior experience needed)
  • A familiarisation with the insurance industry is preferable, but not essential
