Full Job Description

This role directly supports the use of innovation related technology on work that our lawyers undertake for clients. The key tasks are likely to include, setting up matter specific sites using the appropriate innovation technology, delivering training to lawyers on the use of legal technology and acting as a subject matter expert in the use of specific legal technology.

Supporting the use of Innovation technology on individual matters

  • Configuring software to support matters. Examples of the type of software that would be used include:

  • o Deal / transaction / checklist management platforms.
    o HighQ
    o Generative AI platforms
    o Office & Dragons
    o Contract review Artificial Intelligence platforms
    o Workflow and expert logic systems
  • Training lawyers on the day-to-day use of legal technology

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in the use of the technology and be the first point of contact for queries


  • Supporting the roll-out and up-take of legal technology
    Building awareness of the capabilities and benefits of innovation technology through:
  • Formal presentations and lunch and learn sessions

  • Written communications

  • Informal discussions with lawyers

  • Acting as an ambassador for innovation


  • General responsibilities
  • Develop strong working relationships with both legal and business services teams

  • Develop strong working relationships with vendors to ensure quick issue resolution

  • To promote the services of the Innovation team

  • To support other innovation projects and work as necessary

  • Monitoring usage of software to support contract renewal negotiations

    The ideal candidate will likely have pre-existing experience and expertise with legal technology and/or innovation. This includes those that have previously been in technology roles, as well as lawyers or paralegals seeking an alternative career route who have some hands-on experience of using legal technology.,

    Essential
  • Experience in working within, or closely with, legal teams

  • An interest in, and aptitude for, the application of technology to improve how legal services are delivered

  • Ability to build strong relationships both within and outside the immediate team.

  • Strong MS Office suite skills i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Highly Desirable
  • Experience of working on both transactional and disputes legal work

  • Experience of using and/or configuring one or more of the following:

  • o Litera Transact
    o HighQ
    o Generative AI platforms
    o Office & Dragons
    o Contract review Artificial Intelligence platforms such as Kira or Luminance
    o Litigation related technology
    o Document automation software
  • Experience of working in a law firm

  • Experience of working on projects

  • Experience of providing training to others

  • Note: Training on the specific software will be provided.
