Full Job Description

This is a full-time position, 9-5.30, Monday-Friday. It is initially offered as a one-year fixed term contract. After a successful induction period we can offer hybrid working, with two days per week from home. Although the focus of this role is supporting the work of one senior Solicitor, you will be a member of the team and providing additional help where it is needed.

We are seeking applications from reliable people, with a "can do" attitude, who are organised in the face of changing priorities, and keen to adopt new technology. You will have the confidence to gently steer our fee earners toward a more organised life, while being flexible enough to assist your colleagues when workload requires it., We are a busy, well-established firm, with a head office in Fitzrovia and a branch office close to Finchley Central tube station. This position is based at our Finchley office, although you will be expected to work from our head office at least a couple of days per month. Our vacancy is for an experienced assistant with fast, accurate typing, (including transcribing dictation); who knows conveyancing procedures inside out and is up to date with recent developments; can approach paperless working and files of papers with equal enthusiasm; and understands the importance of compliance. It is unlikely that someone with less than two years' solid conveyancing experience will be considered.

The successful candidate will have confident MS Word skills and a minimum typing speed of 65 wpm to handle a heavy workload of audio/copy typing, and they will be able to work quickly, calmly, and accurately under pressure. They will have used at least one case/document management system. Excellent spelling, grammar and numeracy are essential, as is a clear and professional telephone manner.
