The Legal Support Assistant is responsible for overseeing outsourced personal injury claims, handling small claims litigation, supporting data protection requests, specifically subject access requests, and providing company secretarial support and general administrative support to the Head of Legal.

What will you be doing?

Monitor and evaluate the handling of outsourced personal injury claims in line with KPIs

Make informed decisions on claims progression, settlements, or disputes in consultation with the Head of Legal and external counsel

Act as the primary contact between hotel management teams and the legal advisors or insurers for any issues or claims arising

Handle requests for subject data access requests under data protection laws, ensuring timely and compliant responses

Work closely with the data protection officer / head of legal and IT department to retrieve, review, and redact personal data as necessary

Directly manage litigation processes for low-value, time-consuming claims, aiming to resolve them efficiently and cost-effectively

Prepare legal documentation, liaise with stakeholders, and represent the company in legal proceedings if required.

Assist with Company Secretarial responsibilities, including Companies House filings

Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including managing correspondence, and maintaining legal department records, and keeping compliance policies up to date

Support the Head of Legal with research, document preparation, and other tasks as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the legal department

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Familiarity with legal documentation and litigation processes

Project management skills

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Knowledge of legal and insurance frameworks

Experience in handling data protection and privacy issues
