Full Job Description

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment Team. This role involves undertaking comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and risks of children and families, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and interventions. The position offers a competitive pay rate of £38 per hour (umbrella).,

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and families, identifying risks, strengths, and support needs.
  • Manage a varied caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions in line with statutory guidelines.
  • Develop and implement child-centered care plans that address identified needs and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and attend meetings, including Child Protection conferences and court hearings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with departmental policies.

    Qualified Social Worker with registration under Social Work England.
  • Experience working in an Assessment Team or similar setting within children's services.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse and complex caseload while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
