Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a level-1 Tram Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team within Manchester's iconic Metrolink.

In this role, you will support in the completion of Tram maintenance requirements, ensuring KAM assets are safe, reliable and available for operation.

You will be working under the supervision of the Tram Maintenance Team Leader and alongside the Tram Maintenance Technicians, supporting the delivery of KAM's maintenance plan.

Overall, you will play a key role by completing maintenance as stipulated in the Tram Maintenance instructions and supporting in the response to tram asset failures.

What you'll be doing

  • Contributing to the maintenance of assets in line with the tram maintenance instructions.

  • Actively taking part in safety workshops and briefings.

  • Performing tasks in accordance with the policies, standards and guidelines for the maintenance of the tram fleet and associated assets.

  • Providing prompt and constructive feedback on problems identified during tram maintenance tasks.

  • Completing and ensuring asset management records both paper and software based are accurate and up to date.

  • Only completing tasks that you are trained and competent to do.

    Educated to NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline / Advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of maintenance activities within a large multi-disciplined team.

  • Proven experience in a large maintenance environment with a focus on safety and completing maintenance to plan.

  • Ability to follow instructions and excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work within a team to deliver maintenance requirements to the capacity model.

  • Good IT skills Including standard Microsoft Office software.
