Full Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and resilient Level 3 Teaching assistant who is prepared to work in all areas and age ranges of the college as a cover Teaching Assistant, covering absent teachers. This will include travelling between our two sites (Aylestone Meadows and the Knighton Fields Centre) and eventually the Post-16 site when this is completed. This is a permanent post working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

    Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable as is an innovative and creative approach which ensures children and young people who have a range of special educational needs achieve the best possible learning outcomes.

    Ellesmere College provides education for up to 439 children and young people, from 4 to 19 years, with a range of moderate to complex learning difficulties.

    This is a very exciting time for Ellesmere College as we continue to expand from 2 sites to 3 sites. We have our Aylestone Meadows Site and our Knighton Fields Centre which will be completed by a new Post-16 centre in the near future. Our multi-sites enable us to provide bespoke educational opportunities for our Post-16 students and for our students with the most complex needs, in particular those with communication and interaction difficulties including complex autism.
