Full Job Description

  • To contribute to the delivery of the curriculum and provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school, in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and supporting classes.
  • To work collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also to deliver learning to individuals, small groups and whole classes when required.
  • To encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life., The Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.   • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification e.g. CACHE Level 3, NNEB, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3
  • Previous experience as a TA
  • A working knowledge of the EYFS and National Curriculum
  • Supply specialist support with direction and guidance from teaching staff, allowing pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Experience of successfully supporting groups and individuals to make progress, including those with SEND
  • Ability to use a range of behaviour and management strategies
  • A commitment to safeguard the welfare of children
