Full Job Description

We are looking for motivated individuals with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, who are excited to join the Research & Development function to support the associated scientific processes required for the drug discovery and development process such as:

  • Learning and using advanced data analysis methods to process imaging and next generation sequencing data, to understand biological processes in health and disease and to support early-stage drug development.
  • Mastering machine learning approaches to obtain additional insights from datasets, to predict the effect of drugs on different tissues and cell types, and to characterise patient sub-groups, aiding the selection of drug candidates and informing the recruitment of patients for clinical trials.
  • Learning how to provide statistical and technical support to research groups when designing new projects, how to summarise and report results to different types of audiences.

  • What will you do?
  • Assist in analysing and interpreting complex imaging data from preclinical studies, under the guidance of senior data scientists.
  • Help implement existing algorithms for image processing and utilize software tools for data analysis and management.
  • Support the application of machine learning techniques to enhance image analysis and automate workflows.
  • Work with biologists, pharmacologists, and other scientists to design experiments and integrate imaging data with other biological data.
  • Assist in managing large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings, progressively taking on more complex tasks.
  • Stay updated on advancements in imaging technologies and data science, participate in training sessions.
  • Learn about and adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects, gradually taking on more responsibility.

    Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade 4 in GCSE English Language (or equivalent).
  • BBC at A-Level to include Maths (or equivalent). A-Levels in Citizenship Skills, General Studies, and Critical Thinking will not be accepted.
  • Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English. Location: You will be based at Stevenage.   • A competitive starting base salary of £20,800 per year, which increases after year 1 to £26,400 (subject to annual review), plus an annual bonus based on company performance.
