Full Job Description
We require a Library Assistant (part time) at Brentside High School. In this post you will:
· contribute to the provision of an inspiring, thriving, supportive library which supports and engages our students
· supervise students in the library (particularly 6th Formers)
· assist with readers' enquiries
· shelve books and carry out general housekeeping tasks
· process computerised loans and returns
· catalogue and process new books and maintain the existing collection
· create effective displays to promote the library's holdings and general reading
· monitor stock security
· assist with photocopier/printers/computerised catalogue/scanners
· assist the Librarian in administrative tasks
· assist with library induction
· support the administration of reading initiatives across the school
· monitor, support and analyse students' use of the library
· supervise students outside of the library when necessary, as directed by senior members of staff
Applicants will need to have GCSE English grade C/4 or equivalent, should ideally have experience of working with students aged 11 to 19 and must have a commitment to our school's vision.
