Full Job Description

St Helens Library Service is recruiting a Senior Library Digital Officer (37 hours) based at Chester Lane Library. This is an opportunity for you to join a nationally renowned and exciting Library Service that provides a quality and diverse range of services to residents across the borough. The successful candidate will be part of the Senior Library Team, taking the role of operational lead for the Digital Library Service. You will lead on the selection, purchasing, acquisition, organisation, distribution, effective use and performance of all physical and digital library resources. You will also lead on the development and delivery of the Digital Library Service, including system administration of the Library Management System, library catalogue, apps and websites, as well as supporting and training library staff to develop digital skills across the wider service. To undertake this role, you will have

  • high levels of confidence and ability in ICT (including social media) and experience with IT system management and administration
  • knowledge of Library Services
  • excellent customer care skills
  • the ability to use software to analyse data and monitor performance
  • experience of managing budgets
  • the ability to lead teams effectively
