Full Job Description

This Library and Information Advisor role is based at Leamington Library. At the library, they will support the provision of the information service and ensure all stock meets customer needs and our high stock policy standards. Advisors also support other County Council managed libraries in the Leamington area, Community Managed Libraries, and the Area Librarian in ensuring overall service quality. About the Role We are seeking to appoint a well-organised and flexible person who enjoys working with a variety of customers and is passionate about delivering an exciting modern library service to our local communities. This role requires a person with excellent communication skills; a team player who can take responsibility for the library stock, enquiry service, and events schedule to ensure the library can meet both customer needs and County wide standards. Key Requirements Our new Advisor will be able to motivate and inform staff through training, guidance and support, in a variety of formats including face to face, and online. ICT plays a significant role in libraries today so experience of using office packages, the internet & social media is needed to support colleagues, promote the service, assist our customers when answering enquiries, give hands on advice, and carry out administrative duties.

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
