Full Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The Library provides digital and information literacy training both during teaching sessions embedded into the curriculum and via the open programme, which contains workshops that any student can book onto. This includes workshops and tutorials on finding information, referencing, evaluating information. Using your unique insight as students, you will work with the Library's Academic Engagement and Teaching Services team to co-create inclusive, engaging teaching resources and support that that will enhance students' academic success.

Key tasks

Use student insight and feedback to help shape the development of the information skills programme, supporting the Academic Engagement and Teaching Services team to create resources that our students will use for academic success.

Tasks include:
Assisting in the delivery of in-person and online teaching sessions.
Evaluating and providing feedback for teaching materials and support resources.
Assessing the inclusivity and accessibility of teaching materials and resources.
Contributing to the development of the Library's open programme of information literacy workshops.
Providing insight to support the team with the creation of teaching resources.
Participate in user experience (UX) Projects.
Contribute to service improvement.
Contribute to the collection and analysis of feedback and data to evaluate and improve teaching and support.
Share in Library & Cultural Services' culture and ways of working.

Be part of a team of staff that provides support as required, working flexibly according to the needs of the service.

Any other reasonable duties may be allocated from time to time that are commensurate with the expectations of the role.

Dates: 28 October - 13 December 2024, 20 January - 11 April 2025, 5 May - 26 May 2025
Hours of Work: Two 4 hour shifts per week
Successful candidates will work two 4 hour shifts per week and will be required to work on campus. The timings of the shifts will usually be the same time each week and agreed with your Supervisor when you start.
