Life Practitioner - Apple Tree Bungalow

We are looking for new members of our team to join us as Senior Life Practitioners (formerly known as senior support workers). We are offering a unique opportunity, working alongside Lincolnshire County Council to support a young person with complex needs through the provision of therapeutically led care and education in a bespoke setting. Here's a little bit about the person you will be supporting: Hello, I am 12 years old and I will soon be moving to a new home in Lincoln. My home is being developed to meet my individual needs. It will be situated between Lincoln and Newark, so I'll never far from somewhere fun to visit and explore. There are lots of things l can do, however, I do need support to help me further develop my skills and abilities and be able to take part in a variety of activities. I currently require a very specialist approach to support my wellbeing and learning, which will take place within my home and the surrounding outside space and community. I have a learning disability and other associated complex needs and I need therapeutic support to help me communicate my needs and wants and to support my sensory and emotional regulation. The day-to-day support that I need will be guided by Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Music Therapists to create a therapeutic lived experience tailored to my needs.

• Level 3 diploma in residential childcare or equivalent
• Significant experience of working in similar setting in a supervisory / team leader role
• Creativity / curiosity/ enthusiasm
• Passion for delivering quality care and supporting a therapeutically led approach

• Show resilience and work creatively if something does not work the first time, being open to developing your understanding

  A bespoke training package in the delivery of therapeutically informed care and education, this will include training from our highly skilled therapeutic teams
• Ongoing continued professional development through clear pathways for progression

• Support from Service Development Practitioners who provide in service training, coaching and mentoring.
