Lifeguard

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Lifeguard at Lancing College. As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and public visitors during their visit to the pool.,

• Maintain a vigilant watch over swimmers, identifying and responding promptly to any potential emergencies or unsafe situations.


• Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.


• Provide first aid and CPR as needed and have a strong understanding of emergency response procedures and Lancing College's PSOP.


• Conduct regular inspections and cleaning of the pool area, including the pool deck, changing rooms, and surrounding areas.


• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking water quality, temperature, and chemical levels, and report any issues to the appropriate authorities.


• Assist in organizing and conducting swimming lessons or other aquatic programs, as required.


• Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and visitors, providing clear and concise instructions and guidance when necessary.


• Stay updated on lifeguarding techniques, procedures, and safety protocols through regular training and professional development.
  
  Possess a National Pool Lifeguard qualification.


• Proven experience as a lifeguard, demonstrating strong water rescue and first aid skills.


• Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.


• Physical fitness and stamina to perform the duties of a lifeguard, including extended periods of standing and swimming.


• Knowledge of pool maintenance and safety procedures.


• Responsible and dependable, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with colleagues and pool users.
