Full Job Description

We are seeking for 2 people to join our team as a Lifeline Responder & Support Officer and to provide support to our Lifeline team. Lifeline is a support service for the elderly and vulnerable tenants and residents of Charnwood Borough Council.
You will be required to undertake welfare checks on customers who have activated their alarm and we have concerns for, to provide assistance such as gaining access to properties for emergency services and to attend to equipment faults and reset Fire alarms in the CBC sheltered courts. This role provides assistance outside of normal office hours.

  • This service is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, 365 days a year.

  • You will work 6 hours per week in the lifeline office during normal office hours and be on call for 7 days on a four week rota basis, working one week in every four. This includes weekends and bank holidays as per the rota.

  • You will be required to cover for colleagues' sickness and holidays for which you will be paid overtime.

  • Candidates should have a knowledge and understanding of handling sensitive personal information in line with Data Protection.

  • As this job is designated as a 'regulated activity' (i.e., it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or vulnerable adults), an enhanced DBS check is essential.

  • Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

  • Must be able to deal calmly and confidently with a variety of situations and always remain polite and courteous and in manner promoting trust in our service
