- We employ an asset management approach ISO55001 approach to make sure the demand is supported by quality spares when they are needed, skills and ability of the teams aligned to technology and provide innovation only when it adds value to the activity Manage the Lift and Escalator (L&E) asset portfolio within your area to confirm assets are fit-for-purpose and compliant with relevant legislations and standards. Manage the maintenance contractors in line with the contract conditions and agreements, providing technical expertise on L&E services in all areas, including maintenance, repair, and renewals · Manage the planned preventative maintenance and repairs of L&E assets in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and Network Rails contractual standards, recommending remedial and renewal works based on key intelligent, data led information. · Monitor trends in performance, asset condition, failure and failure precursors reviewing your given area performance periodically and completing more in-depth condition reviews quarterly, to guarantee that appropriate action is specified to predict and prevent similar failures and to feedback into other workstreams that will help support the asset reliability improvement. · Complete business agreed assurance activities through audits that are to be recorded and any items raised tracked through to completion following the business processes and using the business approved portals (currently IRIS), areas for audit shall focus on areas such as: Health & Safety, asset equipment/ civils condition, maintenance and reactive engineers documentation standard and condition, strategic spares holdings and maintenance engineer tasks. · Provide technical input to contract management, monitoring key performance indicators, trends in maintenance, asset condition, failure, and failure precursors. Check that appropriate action is specified and implemented to predict and prevent similar failures and implement corrective actions. · Maintain positive relations with customers, suppliers, and between key internal departments feeding into and in many cases leading on important periodic operational and customer meetings regarding Lift & Escalator asset performance, trends, and planned improvements. · Carry out financial and technical reviews on quotations for planned works and for reactive works for works that are proposed to be outside the scope of the contact, these are to be carried out within your financial approved authority to Instruct Levels and follow agreed internal processes within the set SLAs for this task. · Review proposals from other asset groups or external organisations that may impact on maintenance or renewal activity, identify areas potential synergies or feedback on areas of potential negative impacts, and develop optimised plans as applicable. · Provide specialist input to the development and implementation of the Lift & Escalator management strategy for the Lifts & Escalators, including, maintenance, overhaul, improvements, spares, value engineering and asset condition reviews. · Maintain own competence and development plan to support Lift & Escalator engineering maintenance and repair management. · As required by the business, attend incidents, support, or provide the lead for operational Lift & Escalator support.
· NVQ Level 3 as a minimum or equivalent in Lifts or Escalator experience of working in the field of Lifts and Escalators engineering · An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques · Technical engineering experience · Experience and understanding of the Lift & Escalator Regulations and standards. Desirable but not essential · Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution · Membership of IOSH or NEBOSH · Knowledge of relevant Network Rail policies and standards · Knowledge of the railway industry and an understanding of railway infrastructure

The quality and availability of L&E is critical to customer experience at our relevant stations. We also manage the mandatory inspections to guarantee compliance of L&E assets across the network.
